Gatlinburg Anticipates Yet Another Snow

The National Weather Service is now forecasting an average of 1-3 inches of snow for our Gatlinburg area region and based on the radar tracking it looks like it just might happen.  With a series of milder winters behind us, Gatlinburg's ski resort (Ober Gatlinburg) and area school children are absolutely loving this cooler weather and the resulting snow.  With 3 snowfalls already this season, we are already experiencing more of the white stuff than usual and it appears that we aren't finished yet.  Like most Smoky Mountain area snows, this one won't stay on the ground long but because of the much cooler than typical temperatures it will likely stick to the roads for awhile as well as the unpaved ground. We usually get more snow in the mountains than we do here in the valley and they also make snow at the ski slopes.  If you haven't been skiing at Ober Gatlinburg, here is a link to slope snow conditions from their site.
