March 2014 Residential Real Estate Sales Disappoint

Unfortunately, this isn't an April Fools Joke - March 2014 Gatlinburg area residential real estate sales were sharply off when compared to the same month last year. For the first time in a year, sales were actually below the year ago number by 34%. As always, the final result will be better when all firms finish reporting their sales but we will doubtless end up significantly below the number of sales reported in March 2013. A good question that I don't have the answer to is why we would see Smoky Mountain real estate sales drop to this large a degree. We are going to look closer into this, reviewing sales in the Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg areas individually for answers.
