Another Dream of Sevier County is Closer to Reality!

As our community has grown over the years, many important goals have been achieved. In the past 10 years, Sevier County has seen a new state of the art hospital built, an impressive new community college constructed, and most recently a remarkable new Sports Complex was added. A dream of many years for Sevier County residence has been to see a four year college added to our arsenal of community gems and today this challenging goal now appears to be a big step closer.

Sevierville and Sevier County have joined forces to purchase a large property in Sevierville which used to be the operations headquarters for the failed Mountain National Bank. Lincoln Memorial University and other east Tennessee universities have been named as possible operators of a new four year institution here. Although naturally it will take a while for all of the pieces to come together, this would be a HUGE step forward for our Smoky Mountain community if it all comes together!!

I have had this blog since 2003 but didn't really get serious about regularly writing here until the beginning of 2007.
