February Smoky Mountain Real Estate Sales Dissapoint

The initial report of February's Gatlinburg area residential real estate sales is a little disappointing. The recent very difficult weather certainly played a part but the full effect of the very unusual for our area past two weeks of ice and snow probably won't be felt until a month or so from now. While the uncharacteristic bad weather may have delayed some closings during February, it likely delayed far more showings and therefore a similar drop in new accepted offers can reasonably be assumed. That shoe won't drop until 30-45 days from now which means that the real impact of the nasty weather won't be seen on this table until March or even April's sales are reported. Here is the source of my concern:

The good news is that the sun is now shining, the temperatures are warming, and potential buyers are viewing homes again. This Smoky Mountain real estate agent is relieved that Spring is just around the corner - Thank God!!
