The "Docktor" Will See You Now, and the News Is GOOD!!

With the many pressures of modern day life, we all need a safe haven to escape to occasionally. For some, it may be a quiet hike in the woods while for others it is as simple as time on the couch relaxing. For a fortunate few however, their escape is to one of our area lakes. For lake lovers, Douglas Lake offers lots of recreational choices from all types of boating, to bass fishing, to just floating about aimlessly and our newest listing provides for all of these!

This is truly a spectacular lot as it offers both year round access to the water AND you can walk to the water. The nature of our area lakes is that they were created by the Tennessee Valley Authority to protect the area against flooding which used to be an annual concern. For this reason, the lakes are lowered in the winter to provide extra capacity to hold our Smoky Mountain spring and fall wet seasons. Many local property owners enjoy lake access only during the summer when the lake is at its maximum height. Others who do have year round access often enjoy this only because their lake frontage land is VERY steep, in some cases nearly vertical. The owners of the property we have for sale have taken advantage of their super-easy laying unrestricted land allowing you to walk along manicured flagstone paths down to the 800+ feet of waterfront.

The main home itself has three levels of relaxing space to enjoy and then there is the very nice apartment over the garage and even a small modular structure that can sleep more people. There are 83 more photos of this wonderful home and lakefront property, please click the link in this sentence. Although this home technically only has two bedrooms, that is because of the two bedroom septic system that was originally permitted and installed. The MLS sheet and the county environmental health department records confirm this number but FYI only, the house and the extra buildings on the property can actually comfortably and easily sleep a dozen or more people!! Be careful who you tell that you can host this many people because if you tell them, they WILL come. If you want to be able to host all of your children and grandchildren or an entire Sunday School class, this can certainly be done. On the other hand, to preserve the very quiet nature of this property & home as your own sanctuary, you might just want to consider this advice to keep quiet about the actual number of people this property potentially sleeps to be "Docktor's" orders!
