You cannot buy what amounts to investment property without thinking ahead. It is inevitable that you will sell one day. What is going to sell that house? Some secluded tree-lined areas are nice, but people don't come to the mountains to see trees. The don't come to the mountains to gazed upon row after row of cabins. They come for the seclusion and the mountain views. It is getting very hard to find areas that builders haven't overtaken and turned into PUD's. However, they are out there. It takes diligence on the internet and working with a good agent. A house may be "cute" but this is investing. This market has bore out the excess in buying without thinking. It will correct and there will always be good buys. A smart buyer needs to use the mindset to "buy what others wants."
