April = Wonderful Spring Wildflowers in the Smokies!!

Although the Boston Marathon bombing got most of the headlines yesterday, there was something reassuring that I experienced here in Gatlinburg. The wonderful Spring wildflowers have begun to come forth, and the Lemon Trilliums this year (as usual) are phenomenally pretty.

For a closer look at one of these beauties, scroll downward...

If you want to enjoy these exceptional wildflowers, take a stroll along the Gatlinburg Trail. The Gatlinburg trail is a two mile long easy walk which runs along the river from the south end of Gatlinburg to the National Park Welcome Center. The scenery is great and the quiet time is an effective reminder of how nice it is to live a long way from the big cities and all that is wrong in the world today.
