The preliminary April 2015 gross receipt numbers for the city of Pigeon Forge have been reported and they are strikingly good. In particular, the continued strong trend in the lodging industry. Although the scan isn't exactly straight, the numbers are what's important: That's right, a 21% year to date increase in Lodging Revenue, and that doesn't even take into account the coming soon Dollywood DreamMore Resort! Lodging revenue means more demand for area cabins and condo rentals. If this doesn't make you see green, what will??

We tend to focus very tightly on Smoky Mountain real estate (that is what we do for a living!) but I just received the April, 2015 Gross Receipts Report from the City of Gatlinburg for all categories of businesses here and the numbers are great! In particular, the lodging totals are sharply up and I can't help but wonder if that isn't at least to some degree because of the successful launch of the Rocky Top Sports Complex . We are also seeing increases in nearly every other category of the report - Go Gatlinburg!!!
