Although our Great Smoky Mountain Association of Realtors board once had as many as 700 Realtors + an additional 300 MLS participants from other areas, that number has diminished greatly to only 337 local Realtors which is a much more reasonable number. That's a good thing because although our Gatlinburg area market has recently improved , there were simply far too many real estate agents working in our community. Many of these Smoky Mountain real estate agents have moved into other fields, have taken part time jobs, or have moved to other communities looking for better opportunities. This does leave more opportunity for the few full time truly professional agents that remain. Fortunately, and by the grace of God, I have been able to make a very good living here in the Gatlinburg area for the past 17 years selling real estate located from as far south as Athens, TN to as far north/east of here as Morristown.
