The title of this post is perhaps a little misleading, as we have plenty of homes for sale in our Gatlinburg area real estate market, except in the super hot starter/rental home segment of the market. Three bedroom, two bath site-built (not mobile) homes under $100,000 are now almost totally impossible to find but most other segments of our Smoky Mountain real estate for sale market have plenty of supply. What I am actually talking about in my title to this post are residential rental properties. Although we've added several homes to our fast growing residential rental management division, we can't seem to get enough to accommodate the tremendous supply of quality renters looking for places to rent. When we listed for lease a 4 bedroom, 2 bath home last week we had over a dozen inquiries and half a dozen full applications within a matter of just 3 days. With that many renters to choose from, we were able to secure an excellent tenant for our client at very attractive terms. If ...
