They just keep trickling in: We are still nearly 100 units above the pace from a year ago on a year to date basis. Unless things really slow down we should beat 2014 which was significantly better than any year since 2007. Heck, we might even match the lofty total from the bubble year of 2007!!

Unfortunately, April 2014 real estate sales in our Great Smoky Mountain real estate market were not stellar, failing to match last year's results for the second month in a row. While my own real estate sales were up nicely in April compared to our March total, the board of realtors as a whole failed to match its own poor number from last month. We were hoping that March's weak performance by our fellow Gatlinburg area real estate agents would not be repeated but it appears that we were wrong. Remember that additional transactions are always reported after the end of the month so the final total will undoubtedly be revised significantly higher. With 148 residential sales reported already for April 2013, it looks like the month will easily surpass last April's total of 151 sales when all of the dust settles in a few days. Usually about 5-10% more than the flash total is where we end up, depending upon what day of the week the end of the month falls and even the time of year.
