New Sevier County Medical Center Construction Progressing

One of the most important steps towards Sevier County becoming a truly exceptional retirement community is the recent commitment to a quality state of the art medical facility. The new Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center slated to open during the fall of next year will certainly be a major boost to our area both in terms of lifestyle and economically. The new hospital in Sevierville will also include a branch of the Thompson Cancer Survival Center, a nationally known organization based in Knoxville. As we age we all need more medical attention and this is a key requirement for an area to become a premier retirement community. Our four mild, yet distinct seasons, low crime, low taxes, and of course the spectacular scenery of the Smoky Mountains provide several good reasons to retire here. Now with our health care facilities being upgraded we are much closer to joining other areas in this part of the country as prime retirement sites. Now if we can just add a couple more golf courses...
