November Gatlinburg Area Residential Sales Disappoint

In what can only be described as a rather puny performance, the preliminary number for our Smoky Mountain area's residential real estate transaction sales in November is sharply off of the stellar performance from a year ago. In fact, that is part of the problem - November 2011 was the best month during all of last year and that result of 165 closed sales has proven to be just too much to match this time around. Although several more sales will no doubt be reported during the next couple of weeks, the quick result of 123 sales in November 2012 leaves far too great a gap to be closed. This means that for only the second time in 2012, we will be in red when compared to last year's results. Although our Great Smoky Mountain Association of Realtors will likely report a dozen or more additional sales by the time all of the dust settles, the final tally will probably not exceed 150 residential transactions (at the most) during November 2012. For those of you who are more graphical in your thinking, here is the chart:
