January is Jumping!!

Usually, the first of the new year means a short break from the occasional traffic jams and potential long lines at restaurants that Sevier County residents (and visitors) sometimes face, but there seems to be no respite this year. Good weather, low gas prices, a number of Christian youth conferences, and a generally improving national economy have combined to create the busiest January that I can remember. Several times this month I have remarked to those in the truck with me that there seemed to be a lot of people in town and this was confirmed by another article in The Mountain Press on Thursday.

Smoky Mountain real estate transactions continue to be strong as well. January looks great from my point of view as well with several homes already completed this month and a few more set to close by the end of next week. Hey, who really needs an off season anyway??
