Blue's Corner: New Apartments Coming to the Area

The town of Sevierville has been growing rapidly over the last few years. The housing market in Sevierville has been struggling to keep up! However, now we have over 3,000 apartments being built and added to our area according to our friend, Allen Newton, who is the Director of Sevier County Economic Development Council.  While this is exciting for those hoping to live here, there could be several issues with new residents coming to town! For example, the people who work in neighboring areas would be moving here and bringing their families with them. This means that their children would be coming as well. The schools we have are all considered small by state standards. However, they could become ever more cramped with the amount of housing hoping to take place in Sevierville. Sevierville already has four schools just between primary and high school to divide the large amount of kids. Even though there are more schools in the area like New Center, Cattletsburg, and Northview, could the possibility of more residents to Sevier County mean that there will be a need for a larger pools of school to pick from? In addition, if these apartments are cheaper than neighboring areas, this could mean that more people move to our county in general. This means that the local job market will become even more competitive than it already is! This little tourist town seems to grow and grow more each year and it is clear that 2020 will be no exception. Attached to this post is the developing apartments in our area! This could mean big opportunities for the world of Sevierville Real Estate and we are watching this situation closely!

Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Smoky Mountain Water Wells but were Afraid to Ask!

Unlike more urban communities, many Smoky Mountain homes still have water supplied by individual underground wells. The fact is that only a relatively small (but ever growing) portion of our area is served by municipal utility water. This is rarely a problem as wells here in the Gatlinburg and surrounding area usually produce clear and good tasting water for significantly less cost than utility water once the one-time expense of drilling the well is covered.
